Electrical Apprentice (non-traveling)

Job Summary:

Tracy Electric, Inc. is looking for enthusiastic Electrical Apprentices ready to grow with us and advance their careers. This is a non-travel-based position supporting projects at client facilities in the Wichita, KS area. Ideal applicants will have practical experience across industrial and commercial projects, thrive in fast-paced environments, and adapt smoothly to changing job-site demands.


In this role, you'll work side by side with experienced electricians, gaining hands on experience in all facets of electrical work—from installations and troubleshooting to repairs and maintenance. We’re seeking motivated individuals who are committed to continuous learning, ready to refine their skills, and prepared to take the next step toward becoming a qualified Journeyman Electrician.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new installations, upgrades, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Assist licensed journeyman in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial, industrial and settings
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to understand electrical layouts and requirements
  • Assist in wiring, rewiring, and upgrading systems, including outlets, switches, fixtures, panels, circuit breakers and conduit
  • Measure, cut and bend wire and conduit accurately; assist in mounting and strapping conduit; help lift, position and fasten materials such as wiring, conduit and motors
  • Learn to troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure proper functioning of electrical systems
  • Assist in testing electrical systems for functionality and safety, including conducting voltage tests and inspections
  • Gather, maintain, and organize tools, supplies, equipment and parts for use at the work site
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and materials and by collecting and disposing of scrap and excess materials

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • High School diploma or GED (or equivalent); electrical apprenticeship program is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Industrial/ Commercial Electrical Experience preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Demonstrates ability to use electrical and hand tools and an understanding of electrical drawings and blueprints
  • Follow safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment
  • Demonstrated employment stability; good attendance and punctuality required
  • Uses verbal and written skills effectively to ensure that information is successfully shared throughout the organization
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance
  • Effective team player who adds complementary skills and contributes valuable ideas, opinions and feedback

Work Requirements:

  • Work is performed in industrial and commercial settings, including active production facilities, warehouses, and construction sites
  • May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and around high-speed machinery and moving parts
  • Requires flexibility for travel, weekend work, and varying shift schedules based on project needs across multiple regions
  • Work performed in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures, such as inside industrial facilities, refrigerated areas, outdoor sites, and seasonal climates
  • Ability to safely and effectively perform duties in extreme temperatures while adhering to all safety protocols
