Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Freelancer specializing in Website Translation and Localization to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a language expert who is passionate about bridging linguistic and cultural gaps to help businesses reach global audiences. As a freelancer, you will be responsible for accurately translating and culturally adapting website content to ensure it resonates authentically with target markets, maintaining brand voice and consistency across all languages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate website content from the source language to the target language(s) with precision and cultural sensitivity.

  • Localize multimedia elements, including text, images, and interactive features, to fit cultural preferences and norms of the target audience.

  • Collaborate with content creators, developers, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration of translated content.

  • Conduct thorough quality assurance and linguistic testing to identify and fix errors, inconsistencies, or cultural inaccuracies.

  • Maintain glossaries, translation memory, and localization databases to ensure consistency across projects.

  • Stay updated on linguistic trends and localization best practices to continuously improve output quality.

  • Meet deadlines while managing multiple translation projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven fluency in at least two languages, including the source language (usually English) and one or more target languages.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills in both source and target languages.

  • In-depth understanding of cultural nuances, idioms, and local customs relevant to the target audience.

  • Experience with website content, HTML, CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Joomla), and localization tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Smartling).
