Remote HTML5 Game Developer

Join a pure mobile gaming company as a remote mobile slot game software engineer and ride the global game playing wave with a team of talented game developers building games for global distribution. Responsibilities: This is a front-end development role, with the main workflow being to create Slot Game front-end client software using our internal game engine. The software engineer will act in both a project owner and project support role from a developer perspective, working across multiple projects within a single year. This is not a leadership position, but an active developer role working with other engineers. • Design, code and debug core platform components • Work at all stages of the product lifecycle from requirements capture, through design and implementation to system testing and integration • Increase efficiency through automation, workflow streamlining, and system optimization • Keeping current with new technologies and making recommendations to the team • Collaborate with members of the QA and delivery teams to ensure products are tested, installed and maintained to a high standard • Promote high code standards within the team • Maintain and enhance existing product code • Active participation in agile scrum process • Facilitate and support the agile development process • Set-up, configure and maintain development, testing and staging environments • Detect and resolve performance issues • Excellent Communication Skills Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Software Development or related field • Commercial experience creating slot games • Comprehensive knowledge of the game development process • Portfolio of previous work that displays an ability to turn ideas into compelling games • Strong communication skills Required Skills & Experience • 3+ years of experience in developing component-based web apps and UIs • 5+ years of OO software engineering • Expert in all aspects of browser-based JavaScript (ES5) - must be able to speak intelligently about concepts such as “this”, closures, lexical scoping, callbacks, XHR, DOM, global pollution, design patterns • Appreciation of modern ES6 approaches - classes, modules, arrow functions, template literals etc. • Appreciation of TypeScript • Expert in at least one modern front-end platform (e.g. Angular, React) • Node/NPM as part of dev workflow • Build tools (webpack, gulp etc.) • Version control Desired Skills & Experience • 5+ years of experience in developing component-based web apps and UIs • ASP.NET MVC • AngularJS 1.5+ • CSS pre-processors (LESS, SASS) • Canvas / FabricJS • Agile / Scrum Professional Traits: • Determined, proactive and confident personality • Willingness and hunger to learn and develop • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic environment Benefits: • Medical, dental, vision 100% coverage for employee • Generous vacation • 401k • Employee incentive plan under development Location: • You may live anywhere in Texas or Nevada (the states where this company is a registered employer) • Relocation expenses are paid - to anywhere in those states you want to live. • Remote work from home About the Company: In 2019 this company inked a deal with the world's largest game distributor and has funding and runway to build innovative slot games they would want to play.
